ITE Skills Certificate (ISC) First Year

The first year ITE Skills Certificate (ISC) programme is designed for early school leavers who need to acquire the foundation for further skills training.

Students will be taught English Language, Mathematics and Attitudinal Development. In addition, students you will receive training in Basic Electricity & Electronics, Basic Computer Applications and Technical Drawing.

Two options are available for workshop practice:

Technical Stream Option:

This option is suitable for both male and female students. Students will take the following 2 modules:

Basic Electrical Application
 
In this module, students will learn to interpret simple blueprints and carry out simple domestic electrical wiring using PVC trunking and metal conduit.
   
Basic Mechanical Servicing
 
In this module, students will learn to interpret simple blueprints and carry out basic servicing and assembling of simple mechanical components.

Non-Technical Stream Option:

This option is more suitable for female students. Students will take the following 2 modules:

Basic Office Skills

 
In this module, students will learn to perform simple office tasks such as handling of mails, filing of documents, data entry and maintaining office inventory.
   
Basic Service Skills
 
In this module, students will learn basic food preparation, waiting and customer service skills.
